Resplendent
with the gay colors of the Venice Carnival, Isabel paints a picture
of the Grand Canal of Venice with colorful gondolas and gingerbread-like
houses. A dramatic pair of couples walk the esplandade, as if enacting
some silent play. Onlookers on the other side of the canal watch, as
do a number of people on one of the bridges. Balloons float up the air
and life moves in slow motion but with such brilliance of color and
electric detail, the eye is constantly tempted with something new and
exciting at which to gaze.
