The delight of a carousel, landing like some joyous spacecraft onto a bare snowridden landscape fills all the local villagers with happiness and excitement. Children rush towards the carousel, dragging their parents or pointing in wonder at its sudden appearance. Those lucky enough to ride its proud horses, rear and jump with joy as they savour their turn on the carousel.
